How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your Vidsmia account directly from within the app:
- Open Vidsmia on your device.
- Go to Settings (the gear icon).
- Scroll to the Account section.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read the confirmation message and tap Delete account again to confirm.
The deletion process is immediate and irreversible once confirmed.
What Happens When You Delete Your Account
When you confirm account deletion, the following data is permanently removed from Vidsmia’s systems:
- Generation history: All your past video generation records, prompts, and generated video URLs.
- Usage records: Your monthly generation and unit usage data.
- Subscription record: Your Vidsmia subscription information (plan, status, period).
- Authentication account: Your Clerk authentication account (email, credentials, session data).
- Local Vidsmia app data: The app clears its local storage (generation history, preferences, onboarding state) after successful server deletion.
Active Subscriptions
If you have an active paid subscription (Pro or Max), Vidsmia will cancel it as part of the account deletion process.
No partial refunds are provided for the unused portion of the current billing period. The cancellation prevents future renewals.
Videos Saved to Your Device
Videos you have already saved or exported to your device’s photo library, camera roll, or local storage are NOT automatically deleted.
Those copies are under your control on your device. Vidsmia cannot access or remove files you have saved outside the app. You can delete them manually from your device if desired.
Third-Party Provider Data
Account deletion removes your data from Vidsmia’s application database (Supabase) and authentication system (Clerk). However, certain third-party providers may retain information independently according to their own policies and legal obligations.
For example:
- Stripe: Retains transaction records for financial, tax, and regulatory compliance (typically 7+ years).
- Clerk: May retain minimal logs for security and fraud prevention.
- fal.ai (AI provider): Processes generation requests; see their privacy policy for retention details.
- Vercel / Supabase: May retain access logs and backups for security and operational purposes.
We do not claim that every third-party provider immediately deletes every piece of data. For full details, see the Privacy Policy (Data Retention and Account Deletion sections).
